Innovative Teaching Professional Center for Kindergarten and Primary Levels

Chiang Mai University Demonstration School

 

     The Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai University, was established with the idea of extending degrees in educational disciplines to regional areas through government policies aimed at developing educational standards in the northern region. The faculty aims to produce highly effective secondary school teachers and collaborate with schools in the community to improve teaching methodologies and processes.

     The Chiang Mai University Demonstration school has been established to implement the above-mentioned goals:

  • It is a place where both faculty students and faculty members can gain classroom experience.
  • It is a source for exploring teaching and learning methods based on new educational philosophies to build and standardize the management of education in the northern region.

     For the above reasons, the school was established. Chiang Mai University Demonstration School has been managed since 1968 but is only available at the secondary level.

     The year 2009

  • Chiang Mai University Council Approved the expansion of teaching and learning demonstration schools at the kindergarten and primary levels and from the 6th Chiang Mai University Council Meeting 2018.

     June 22, 2018.

  • The Council agreed to move forward with the expansion program for the administration of kindergarten and primary Chiang Mai University Demonstration School.

     Furthermore, the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand 2017 (Current Edition) states in Section 54 that the state must provide education for all children for twelve years, from pre-school to quality compulsory education. Section 258, the study concluded that educational reforms can be implemented so that young kids can be cared for and developed physically, mentally, disciplined, emotionally, societally, and intellectually. Therefore, all sectors of the public and private sectors, as well as related agencies, need to pay serious attention to young children or early childhood for human resource development to be strong and sustainable in the future, and those involved in the administration of the study need to accelerate the process. This will result in children and youth growing up to be quality individuals in society.

     The Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai University is a place that develops teachers and educational personnel at all levels of quality. It is also responsible for research, developing innovations for teaching and learning, and working with education agencies to train teachers who will help move the national education system forward. Under a strategy that focuses on management, it adapts to its characteristics and produces a new image. Under the vision of the Faculty of Education, "The Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai University will be a leading institution in the production of teachers and educational personnel who specialize in new approaches to teaching." The Faculty has analyzed the status of the organization, customers, the context of the situation of the country and developed the Faculty of Education Development Plan Phase 12 (2017-1961) as a framework for implementation.

     In the practice of teaching professions. It was noted that society has expectations and wants faculty and schools to demonstrate. Extend educational management to all levels, especially kindergarten and elementary school. In addition, the faculty has early childhood education and elementary schools to help produce teachers at kindergarten and primary levels. As a result of this expectation, the faculty has launched a project to build a professional operations center for teachers specializing in a new teaching approach to support teaching and learning in kindergarten and primary school. Also known as Chiang Mai University Demonstration School, Kindergarten and Elementary School, the center will demonstrate new training and teaching approaches. This will support the development of academic achievement available to both student teachers and teachers. It is also a source of research to develop innovations. It also develops students who have completed kindergarten and primary school into internationally qualified students to enhance Thailand's competitiveness on the world stage. The school is scheduled to open at kindergarten and primary school levels from the 2020 academic year.
